Remembering Queen Elizabeth II

Remembering our inspirational Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on what would have been Her Majesty's 100th birthday. The late Queen visited the school in 1985 with Prince Philip, in what was the highlight of Gordon’s centenary celebrations. During the visit, Queen Elizabeth II presented a new colour and inspected the Parade. Her Majesty also requested that the following term there should be a special day’s holiday! Since Queen Victoria in 1885, when Gordon’s opened as Gordon Boys’ Home for ‘necessitous boys’,  there has been an unbroken line of Sovereign Patrons. His Majesty The King accepted the Patronage after his mother’s death, in May 2024.
