Water filtration systems from plastic bottles, wind turbines from ice lolly sticks and spaghetti buildings made to withstand an earthquake. These were some of the activities that made up the STEM day with AtkinsRealis. Each of the Year 10 designs was tested, with winners for each interactive workshop. The event, part of Careers Week, proved a fantastic and stimulating introduction to engineering principles.
