Art students learned first hand how Petronella Hall creates her stunning designs for wallpaper and fabrics. Ms Hall focuses on the natural world to produce her incredible hand drawn designs which are digitally printed on materials.
The winning entry in the Winter Art Competition. This first prize piece by Jemima Robinson will be on sale in the Dining Room at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday (11am to 3pm). There will also be the chance to buy Christmas cards produced by the Creative Photography Club.
Rainy and cold it may be but inside Sandringham House, it’s full of cheer. The Christmas season has already started with lights and artistically decorated trees, all of which have been given a massive thumbs up by the residential boarders there.
The equestrian team had another busy weekend and added even more rosettes to their ever growing collection including team and individual placings on Saturday as well as second at the NSEA Grass Roots Regional Championships on Sunday.
Don't forget to pick up your Gordon's poppy today from Reception. If you haven't pre-ordered one, they will be available there £5 each - all proceeds to the Royal British Legion. Teas and coffees will be served in the Dining Hall before exeat pick up.
Poppies made and planted by pupils are now available to buy from the Box Office (please click here) or they can be bought from Reception on Friday afternoon (23/11/18) for £5.
Media masters: New to Gordon’s social media tweeters and instagrammers is @GordonsHump. Run by students from Year 7 and Year 8 Digital Media Club which meets on a Saturday morning, the group is already providing an eye-catching insight into Saturday morning activities in the school.

Molly Barnard from Gordon's Equestrian Team is the NSEA 90-95cm Jumping with Style National Plate Champion. Team mate Rebecca Hales came second in the NSEA 1-1.05m Jumping with Style National Plate Championship at the event in Bedfordshire.
Two student-led shows - Education, Education, Education and Mayfly are being performed on Thursday 29th November. Tickets for the performances of are available through the Box Office on the school website.
Thanks to a very generous donation from Gordon’s School Parents’ Association (GSPA), the English Department has bought dozens of literary classics. Now as well as visiting the Library, students will be able to enjoy the use of a ‘mini-library’ in the six dedicated English classrooms. Legendary works of fiction, such as To Kill A Mockingbird, Dracula, and Frankenstein, have been included as well as more modern works, like The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, and The Fault in Our Stars. This is a great opportunity for students who like to read – and perhaps a greater opportunity for those who don’t, as they are sure to find something interesting within the huge range of genres available at their fingertips!
