  • Saluting Hm The Queen

    The annual Patron's Parade was held at Gordon's on Saturday to honour our Patron HM The Queen on her official birthday. The school was founded in 1885 as The Gordon Boys’ Home after Queen Victoria insisted that a fitting memorial be created in General Charles Gordon’s honour. Queen Victoria was the first in an unbroken line of Sovereign Patrons. Inspecting Officer of the Parade was Colonel Colin Francis, Regimental Colonel of the Royal Logistic Corps and a Gordon's parent. Leading the Parade was Head Boy Oliver Henderson.

    Congratulating Britain’s Got Talent winner Colin Thackeray in the 2019 final were students from Gordon’s. The students were attending the Founder’s Day Parade at the Royal Hospital Chelsea when they met the singing war veteran and Chelsea Pensioner who triumphed on Sunday with the song ‘Love Changes Everything’. Each year representatives from Gordon’s are invited to attend this special event which remembers King Charles II who issued a Royal Warrant for the foundation of the hospital and commissioned Sir Christopher Wren to design it on the 66 acre site. Dressed in their ‘Blues’ marching uniform, the group is selected due to their marching skills. This year the Annual Review was performed by HRH the Duke of Sussex.

  • golfing giants

    Gordon’s golfing giants have triumphed again, with three selected to represent Surrey Schools at the South of England Championships. The threesome recorded second, third and eighth place in the championships.  Two of them will now go to play for South Schools at the National finals later this month. Congratulations all.

  • Follow the sapper

    Follow the Sapper to Wisley Gardens! The Gordon’s Gardening Club entry for the RHS Garden Wisley Scarecrow Competition has arrived at the world-famous gardens. The entry which includes poppies is of a soldier saluting his Queen and country. It reflects that the school is the national memorial to General Gordon and our proud association with the Royal Engineers. It is also in memory of the Gordonians who lost their lives while serving in conflicts. The spectacular scarecrow display is being held during this half term holiday from Saturday 25th May to Sunday 5th June.

  • gordonian named in the netball world cup 2019 squad

    Gordonian Eboni Usoro-Brown, nee Beckford-Chambers, has been named in the England Roses squad for the forthcoming Netball World Cup.

    Eboni was a Windsor House girl from 2001 to 2004.  She made her England debut in 2008 and was part of the gold medal team at last year's Commonwealth Games.

    We wish her and the whole team the best of luck for the tournament which starts on 12th July.

    Our Pipers and Drummers made the most of their day at The Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming, where they worked alongside military pipers. The Director presented them with a memento of their time spent there, which will be hung on the Band Room wall. The day finished with a Beating Retreat at Holyrood Palace performed by the Scottish Schools CCF Pipe Bands - one of which was Robert Gordon's College, who they will be visiting today.
