  • Silver for Gordonian Rower

    Published 07/06/21

Nailbiting few days for Gordon's rowers - past and present. Gordonian Sam Bannister was rowing for GB in Sabaudia in the World Rowing Cup III in the Men's Four, winning silver. Meanwhile, students in our current rowing squad were competing at the home of the 2012 Olympic rowing venue at Dorney Lake in the National Schools' Regatta and the Junior Sculling Regatta. This was their first opportunity to test themselves on the water against some of the best junior scullers in the country and for some, the first time they had raced in a true six-abreast competition at such a prestigious venue. Although there were no winning medals, everyone raced above their expectations and gained valuable experience. Congratulations all!

All Houses gave admirable performances for judges Lt Col Martin Hanlon and Captain John Hughes, School Staff Instructors from the CCF at Christ’s Hospital. Congratulations China on your hat-trick of wins and Sandringham, who last won the Talbot Cup in 2016.
