  • Fire Fighting for Naval Cadets

    Fire-fighting training for our Royal Navy CCF Cadets on their field day at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth. Meanwhile, our RAF cadets are learning new skills at RAF Odiham and Army cadets at Longmoor Camp. All Year 10 students join one of the school’s tri-service CCF with the opportunity of taking part in one field day per term.     What could possibly go wrong with trying to put together a musical in just 24 hours for charity? But the Drama Department and a crew of talented students did just that, putting on a public performance on Sunday evening that was enjoyed by all, to raise money for King's College Hospital, London.   • HMC National Singles Champion

    Congratulations Millie Cottrell, who was crowned HMC (Headmasters' & Headmistresses' Conference) National Girls Singles Champion for 2022. 

    Millie shot a one over par 74 at The Berkshire Golf Club Red Course to seal the national title against 11 other girls.

    After a tough front nine Millie shot an outstanding 33 coming in - including four birdies - her impressive recovery clinching the national title.

    Millie’s late birdie blitz put her ahead of the other top girls golfers across the country by a whisker as she won on count back. Runner up in the competition was Lichtenhein (Wellington College).  For further information about golf at Gordon's, please click here.

  • 24 hour musical

    Twenty four hours and 35 students putting together a musical to an audience at the end! That’s what the Drama Department of staff and students have set themselves in order to raise money for King’s College Hospital Charity. Students will be told what musical they are performing when they arrive at school on Saturday. From then on it’s all systems go. Lighting, sound, dance, music, and rehearsals – all within 24 hours!   • Maths challenge

    Heads down for the UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) Senior Maths Challenge as some of the School's best mathematicians from Years 11, 12 and 13 test themselves in the hope of achieving gold, silver or bronze certificates or perhaps to qualify in the British Mathematical Olympiad. The 90 minute, multiple choice challenge, seeks to inspire a love of problem solving and has been running for over 20 years.

    Light, bright, contemporary and the perfect place to relax, Sandringham and Balmoral's new-look facilities for Residential Boarders are proving a great hit with staff and students. Bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas have all been transformed as part of a five year £1 million refurbishment of the school’s Residential Boarding Houses, coinciding with Gordon's TES Boarding School of the Year Award 2022.     A great start to this year's MUN (Model United Nations) with students coming away from Reigate Grammar School's 26th conference with six awards, including highly commended, highly distinguished, best delegate and best delegation! Representing the USA, Canada and Egypt, students debated topics such as the question of chemical and biological weapons, cryptocurrency, censorship and Taiwan.   • Football's coming home

    A great start on the road to the ESFA Finals with a 2-0 win against George Abbot for the U14 team. Gordon’s First XI U16 team made it to finals in the last academic year and the U18s First XI in 2019 and 2018. Is this the year that the boys will finally lift the ESFA trophy?   • Team GB for Wakeboarder

    Introducing another type of boarder at Gordon's, Marley O'Toole, who has been selected for Team GB at the Cable Wakeboard World Championships in Thailand. The 12 year old only started wakeboarding four years ago and just this summer has competed in Denmark, Germany and Italy and World Championship events in both boat and cable wakeboarding in the U15s category. Wishing Marley all the best for the competition.

    First in a series of workshops for Years 7, 8 and 9 to help students become more independent learners. A fantastic opportunity for students in these year groups to practise various techniques to help them learn more effectively and efficiently, improve their memory and find out how their brains work.     Devouring all that Paris has to offer, Years 11 and 13 have not only enjoyed visiting Le Musee d’Orsay; Sacre Coeur and l’Arc de Triomphe (to name but a few!) but walked along the Champs Elysees and taken a cruise on the Seine as well as savouring delicious French cuisine. Today they’re tackling the giddy heights of the Eiffel Tower followed by Le Louvres.
