Gordon's golfers combined to put on another winning performance at the Schools' Golf Competition recently held at the Beau Desert Golf Club, coming away with first place in the team event; a first, second and third place in the stableford and a joint first place in the gross competition! Congratulations all!
Gordon’s hosted its third Model United Nations Conference, welcoming eight other schools from across the country for two days of debate and discussion. With five separate committees including the security council, many different issues were discussed including ‘The Question of Lethal Autonomous Weapons’, ‘ the Iranian Nuclear Programme’, and ‘children impacted by the US border crisis/question of Haiti refugees’. Gordon's delegates representing the USA team lifted the second highest prize, that of Highly Commended Delegation.
Inspiring netball students and scholars, not just with their coaching but question and answer session afterwards, two of the game’s giants, Felistus Kwanga, Captain of the Zimbabwean national team and Peace Proscovia, captain of the Ugandan national team. Both play for Surrey Storm, partners of Gordon’s and delivered a masterclass on shooting and defence. Peace told the girls: “Believe in yourself. Know why you are doing something and have passion - it will take away the fatigue. Pursue your dream fearlessly”.

Great results for our rowers on Sunday at Dorney’s Olympic Lake in the Ball Cup. Cloudless skies coupled with vociferous support from other students spurred James, in a single, on to a brilliant row in the heats and a first place in the final! Emilia and Immie also made their final, fighting the other crews right up to the line for a fifth place out of 15 in their category. Congratulations all!
They've done it! The U16s have won through six rounds of the ESFA national competition to reach the final and will take on Brooke House College at Stoke City FC in what is set to be a thrilling game. Congratulations to our Ten Tors teams for not only achieving the 35 mile cross country challenge but breaking a school record in the process! The Year 10 students made the event in 17 hours - the best time in 24 years! Two teams from Gordon's joined over two thousand students for the Army's 60th Ten Tors event over two days. Their participation was the culmination of months of early morning training to ensure they were at the peak of fitness. Misty conditions made their orienteering skills even more important as they set off carrying all they needed to complete their route and stay out overnight safely. Both teams reached checkpoint 7 on the Saturday evening meaning they had just three tors to conquer before the finish the next day. First over the finish line was Gordon’s A Team at 11.24am with the B Team hot on their heels at 11.36am.
Talks and workshops on everything from music to film, to graphic designing, photography, drama and technical to name but a few, are here today for a Creative Arts Careers Day that has something for everyone. Delighted to also welcome students from St John the Baptist School, Woking and Woking High to the careers day.

A stunning array of art and photography on display in the Gym as tonight sees the opening of the GCSE Art and Photography Exhibition. All welcome to come and enjoy the artistic talents of the GCSE students from 6pm to 7.30pm tonight.
Delighted to have been shortlisted for The Times Boarding School of the Year Award. The award, which will be announced in June, recognises innovation, imagination and efforts to develop children in ways that go beyond academic achievement and the league tables as well as maintained continued excellence. Delighted to welcome HRH Princess Eugenie and Julia de Boinville to our Insight Talk, in which they provided a fascinating look at their work with the Anti-Slavery Collective. The Anti-Slavery Collective was founded in 2017, with the aim of eradicating modern slavery for around 40 million people worldwide. Their work involves raising awareness of this global epidemic and encouraging law enforcement agencies, policy makers, journalists, academics, NGOs, companies, individuals and survivors to collaborate and share ideas on the fight against human trafficking. The two of them are pictured with Gordon’s Headmaster Andrew Moss.
Nail-biting performances by the U18 Girls’ tennis team against Cranleigh School yesterday, in which they pushed their opponents all the way before narrowly missing out on a place in the regional stage semi finals of the Aberdare Cup, a national competition. The final result was 4-2 to Cranleigh with three of the six rubbers being decided on championship tie breaks, meaning it really could have gone either way. Particular credit to Elena, who picked up two wins, including a doubles victory alongside Genna where the pair saved five match points! Thank you to Cranleigh School for hosting.
