The Year 8 District Tournament scheduled for today (Monday 19th March) at Salesians College, Farnborough has been postponed.
Pipers Oliver Henderson and Ed Lee welcomed West End's newest residents at the opening of the new residential care home, Gracewell. Their music was enjoyed by both residents and visitors to the home, which is a near neighbour of Gordon's.
Twenty one past and present students from Gordon’s School are off to Buckingham Palace this summer, having successfully achieved their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Laura Gumbrell; Simon Carr; Thomas Sebastian Torrington; David Hutchings; Freya Smith; Harrison Francis; Oliver Rigby; Chloe Norman; George Bolland; Amy Beet; Georgia Beavis; Oliver Francis; Henry Mooney; Ryan Laing; George Hurt; Alexia Genetay; Eloise Young; Poppy Colloff; Saffy Ahmad; LouLou Mattinson and Poppy De Vere Green will all go to the presentation, which will take place in May. Phil Fox, who leads the DofE programme at Gordon’s said: “I speak for all the DofE staff at Gordon’s in congratulating the Gold Award holders on their achievement and hope that they and their families have a super day at the Palace.”
Wowing the judges at the Godalming Music Festival in the Musical Theatre Class were the following students in the Y12-13 Category - Tasmin Martin-Young (Y12) first place; Killian Lines (Y13), second place; Katie Beet (Y12) third place. In the Y7-Y11 Category - Grace Cottage (Y11) second place and Alice Kermeen (Y7) third place.
Semper Fidelis singers, Gordon's School elite choir has come first at the Godalming Music and Drama Festival in the school choir mixed voices category. The choir were presented with the Hyldon Cup at the festival. Congratulations too, to Phoebe Norman and Roseanna Fernandes, who came third place in the festival with their acting duologue.
Gordon’s ended their remarkable cup run to English Schools’ Football Association Trophy holders Millfield School after a penalty shoot-out in the Semi-Final. The competition saw them win through seven rounds against many of the top footballing schools in the country. Good luck to Millfield!
The ESFA Game against Millfield is set to take place at 2pm today (Monday 5th March) on the Front Field. Supporters welcome to cheer on the First XI Team as they play the semi-final of this national competition.
The Semi-Final of the English Schools' U18 Football Association competition against Millfield has been postponed. The match will take place next week instead.
Gordon's is open as normal today.
Congratulations to the Girls' U18 Rugby 7s team who won the Shield at Christ's Hospital on Sunday.
The U14A Rugby Sevens vs Surrey, scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday 27th February) has been cancelled.
