    The battle for power between Fat Sam and Dandy Dan begun in earnest as rehearsals started this week for Gordon’s musical extravaganza Bugsy Malone. The all-singing, all-dancing gangster comedy, will be performed at the Camberley Theatre next year and promises to be another huge success.

    Not only did Buckingham’s Head of House Jamie Sinclair complete the challenging Farnham Pilgrim Marathon, but he came in the top 20! Mr Sinclair completed the Surrey Hills event in 3:46 hours climbing over 700 metres over the 26.2 miles for Woking Hospice.     Mane event: Make up and workshop with members of the Lion King crew yesterday. Today was the turn of singers, dancers and actors at Gordon’s who had their chance to learn the tricks of the trade from members of the hit West End musical.     A peek into how Rowena Hulme, Worldwide Associate Hair and Make Up Designer from the Lion King makes her transformations. The event, at Gordon’s was followed by the first career talk of the year which featured Ben Heathcote who is currently performing in the hit West End show. The two of them talked about a career in theatre, music, film and television, giving students an insight behind the scenes and how to progress into this exciting but also a highly competitive industry.

  • Tackling rugby

    Fresh from Fiji where he worked with the National Men’s 7s team as their analyst and skills coach is Chris Davies who is Gordon’s new Head of Rugby. Mr Davies, who is also Khartoum's Head of House has already started working with the students during pre-season training and will be coaching the First Team and putting girls' rugby on the map at Gordon's.

    Spare a thought this weekend for Buckingham’s Head of House Jamie Sinclair as he competes in the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon. The sporty science teacher is donning his marathon gear to take part in what is described as one of the prettiest (and challenging!) trail marathons in the UK. With a route that takes in the Surrey Hills, the event has 2,489 ft of elevation over the 26.2 miles. Mr Sinclair is running in aid of the Woking Hospice and has set up a Justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jamie-sinclair7

    With a well-deserved reputation for producing delicious school meals, Gordon’s culinary wizards are also forging ahead with their aim of educating palates. Sugar has been cut by 70 per cent and school menus colour coded and feature nutritional values. Students and staff are now easily able to see exactly what they are putting in their mouths.
