    The annual General Gordon Memorial Service at Guildford Cathedral today, attended by the whole school, staff and parents. The Gordon Sermon was delivered by the Bishop of Dorking Dr Jo Bailey Wells.

  • Whitehall 2019

    Bringing Whitehall to a standstill, the annual Parade to the statue of General Gordon on the banks of the Thames today. Watched by parents, staff and many tourists, the event was a fitting tribute to the heroic and devoted Christian, in whose memory the school is founded.

  • memorial weekend

    The Parade Square at Gordon’s today. Whitehall tomorrow. The Pipes and Drums next to the statue of General Gordon in West End, Woking having one last practise before the Parade through London to commemorate General Gordon’s life. Gordon’s is the only school in the country permitted to march along this iconic central London venue, a proud tradition that is an integral part of the school's history. Best of luck to all those taking part tomorrow at Whitehall and the following day at Guildford Cathedral.

  • early morning training

    Cold, wet and dark, the perfect conditions for a further ten minutes under the duvet. Not so for the many Day and Residential Boarders who don PE kit and taking part in Early Morning Training three times a week at Gordon’s - whatever the weather! Today Mr Fox welcomed 44 of them from every year group in the school. Many came along to improve their fitness for the expedition to Dartmoor, others for team sports and their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. All can now look forward to a hearty breakfast.

    Mock exams out of the way, now it’s time for the Sixth Form interviews. Senior members of staff at Gordon’s have begun interviewing current Year 11 Students who wish to continue into the Sixth Form, which ranks in the top one per cent of schools in the country for progress over the past three years at A Level. Next week Gordon's will be welcoming external applicants for interview. Best of luck to all of them.

    Diffusing bombs and escaping - just a normal weekend in the life of a Gordon's boarder! Balmoral and Windsor enjoyed a great trip out to Containment Escape Rooms for a day of problem solving and puzzles, managing to escape with just three minutes remaining.

    Presenting to the Gordon’s Business Networking breakfast today was Thomas Prout, Director of Workflow in Camberley, which provides a number of services including document solutions and fully managed print services. The networking breakfasts are held once a month for professionals and businesses, providing an opportunity to meet and discuss ideas and issues in a relaxed and friendly environment.     Please join us for a quiz night in support of the Summer Rugby Tour to South Africa. The event costs £5 per person and includes a meal and entry to the Quiz. A licensed bar will also be available.     Pounding the streets of Windlesham during their Period 7 activities this week were the Cross Country runners, who displayed perseverance, strength and great running ability!  Students at Gordon’s have a choice of nearly 80 activities - from horse riding to fencing and Mandarin - to choose from as part of their co-curricular Period 7.
