Well used to tough competition in Inter-House Sports and The Arts, today students from Years 7-10 in every House pitted their wits against each other in the first Inter-House Maths. Rising to the challenge were Victoria House in first place with China in second and Balmoral third. Congratulations all.
Providing an insight into Sandhurst Military Academy, Gordonian Captain James Russell. A student here between 2000 and 2007, Capt Russell was taking part in one of the regular careers talks held every term to help students with their career choices. Surrey Heath's Deputy Mayor Cllr Robin Perry welcomes over 120 delegates to Gordon's today for the Surrey Heath Youth Council Conference 'Curriculum for Life'. The delegates are attending workshops and listening to speakers on topics ranging from 'What is Life Like at University' to 'How to Prepare for an Interview and Deal with Stressful Questions'.
Looking forward to welcoming over 120 delegates today from four Surrey Heath schools for the Surrey Heath Youth Council Conference 'Curriculum for Life'. All are coming to Gordon’s to hear a variety of university speakers. SHYC is a peer-led social action group which tries to improve the Surrey Heath area for all young people. Their aim is to be a voice for young people and increase their awareness and influence over issues which concern their lives. They run projects on a range of topics that matter to people in their age group, including town planning; transport and other council services.
One event, five riders, 12 rosettes! Horse riders from Gordon’s Equestrian Team competed in sub-zero temperatures on Sunday in an unaffiliated dressage and show jumping competition at Bury Farm, Leighton Buzzard against adults and juniors alike. Taking part for the first time in a Gordon’s Equestrian event, Emilia Hewetson recorded just a few minor errors in the 60cm course at the NSEA Dressage and Show Jumping Competition and finished fourth with 64.57% in the Intro C Dressage Test. The Gordon's Show Jumping Event - open to teams and individuals aged between 8 years old and 18 in full time education, will take place on Sunday 10th March.
