Development Office Reports

Please find below the Annual Development reports for 2016-17 and 2017-18 which provide a review of activities within Gordon's School and The Gordon Foundation. They illustrate the impact  that the Gordon's experience offers our students, including those who are supported financially though the Foundation's bursary programme and grants from our external trusts and foundations.

All schools are busy and Gordon’s is no exception working hard to prepare our students for life beyond school. Whilst encouraging each student to achieve their very best academically, the extensive range of co-curricular activities at Gordon’s ensures that every student can find something to excite and inspire them outside the classroom. In addition to traditional team sports, rowing is increasing in popularity, for example, and the Model United Nations teams are making an impact with their debating skills. We also try to make a difference within our local and wider community through student and staff fundraising and volunteering. Reference to Wellbeing and Resilience are sometimes overused, but at Gordon’s through Character Education in particular, these continue as a bedrock to our work  – courage, integrity, determination, enthusiasm and resilience. We think that General Gordon would approve. We are now planning the opening in September of our eleventh residential boarding house, Woolwich, for the 32 boys and girls who join Gordon’s in Year 7. In addition to providing a more family-style environment for their first year in residential boarding, it allows us to increase boarding capacity in other years, too. The second significant development for 2020 will be the availability of our new sports hall and all-weather pitch, transforming the breadth of opportunities for our students as well as offering much needed training facilities for local youth teams. Whilst finance for the capital costs is in place we will be fundraising to purchase new sports equipment.

Thank you so much for your continued interest and support of Gordon’s School. Should you ever wish to visit during a school day, do please contact the Development Team who will be very happy to arrange this.
