#bleedgreen – The Co-Curricular Podcast looks at what we can learn from others within the Gordon’s School community. Every Half-Term there will be a series of podcasts released from across the different Co-Curricular sectors of the school.

SERIES 1 - EPISODE 1

Have you ever wondered how Mr King teaches his children maths at home? Or what biscuit Chris Johnson would be? Or what drives First Team Hockey Captain Hannah to compete at the highest possible level? In this episode we were delighted to be joined by Chris and Hannah to discuss the highs and lows of this year, the missed opportunities and how they have adapted to lockdown life.

 

SERIES 1 – EPISODE 2

Have you ever wondered what zoo animal Cara would be? Or why Arjun stay on his bike for over seven hours? Or what motivated Josh to complete over 1000km on his bike? This episode we look back at the whole school kilometre challenge, which engaged so many of the staff and students who all put in a fantastic effort. We were joined by five students who went above and beyond to achieve some incredible distances - you will want to listen to the VERY end!!!

Have you ever wondered who wrote an Opera in Reception? Or who starred as a dancing bun? Or what film Mr Olden would re-write as a stage musical? As staff and students returned to school, Mr Olden and Miss Moore catch up with the Drama Ambassadors about staying creative in lockdown.

Have you ever wondered why students ‘bleedgreen’? Or what path you can take through Gordon’s School Sixth Form? Or what happens after you leave Gordon’s School? In this episode we explore the different journeys four Year 13 students have taken and their exit points from Gordon’s School. They all speak honestly about their dreams for the future and the next chapter in their life beyond the school gates.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the world was just black and white?

What lasting impact can a really great exhibition have on you? In this episode Miss Pankhurst and Miss Dawson talk to two Art students about their experience creating artwork in lockdown and what they missed about being in school. Jack talks to us about his brand Grow Up which he created in the first lockdown and has been making money from ever since, and Bel explains how she got involved in the Portraits for NHS heroes project.

In this episode we hear from the Music Department at Gordon’s School. Students talk about the work that they have done this academic year and how music has helped them through the COVID 19 pandemic.

Have you ever wondered what really happens on the Duke of Edinburgh expeditions? In this episode we talk to four Year 9 students who have completed their Bronze Award. A refreshing first-hand experience of the skills, stories and memories made by the students.
