  • All aboard the wildcat

    Ten cadets from Gordon's School CCF RAF section became the first cadets to fly in the Army's new Wildcat reconnaissance helicopter. They took to the skies as guests of 659 Squadron Army Air Corps. The cadets were given STEM (Science Technology Engineering Maths) training in helicopter engineering, operations and safety. They also received instruction on the new flight simulator.

  • bowled over!

    All-rounder Surrey County cricketer Elliott Sleep has been selected to play for Surrey Schools Cricket Association against the London Schools Cricket Association (LSCA) for the second year running in the Hobbs Trophy next month at The Kia Oval. Last year the Gordon's 1st VI player bowled out the opposition side's opening batsman! We wish him the best of luck.

    Staff and students dug deep in their wardrobes to donate 30 bags of clothes for a charity collection for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices. The clothes appeal byt 9B PSHE was for their 'Social Action' Philanthropy Project.

  • music award

    A prestigious music award has been achieved by Gordon's. The Incorporated Society of Musicians - the UK's professional body for musicians - has awarded Gordon's a certificate '...in recognition of the excellent work you do for music in your school'. The award puts this school among the top in the country for music at GCSE.  The announcement comes shortly after students celebrated record  LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) results, notching up 18 Distinctions; nine merits and four passes.

    Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards were presented to Gordon's Students at Buckingham Palace by HRH The Earl of Wessex. The students are pictured here at the iconic landmark moments before the ceremony.   • General visits CCF

    General Sir Mark Mans, Chief of the Royal Engineers, visited members of the  Gordon's School CCF. The School has always enjoyed close links with the Royal Engineers as General Gordon served with the Regiment. As well as watching the Air Force and Navy cadets on exercise, Sir Mark presented medals to the Ten Tors team of 12 students from Y10 who took part in the 55 kilometre challenge held last weekend.
