The newly-formed Boys' Choir held their first Choral Evensong at Gordon's last night by candlelight in the school chapel. This enchanting service - the oldest continuous music tradition in the world - will also take place on Parade Sunday March 24th from 6pm. All welcome.
Fundraising for the new sports hall and all-weather pitch for Gordon’s and the local community, has already started with Buckingham’s Head of House Jamie Sinclair committed to running in the London Marathon to raise money to equip the development. A 2-0 win against the Royal Russell School this afternoon has earned Gordon’s First XI football team a place in the quarter final of the English Schools’ FA Cup – for the second year running. The team, coached by former Chelsea and Sunderland player Gareth Hall made it to the semi-final last year. Congratulations boys.
Fresh from their production of Bugsy Malone, students were treated to a musical theatre masterclass this afternoon with Adam Stadius. Adam, an acting coach is a teacher practitioner of the Meisner Technique.

Competing in freezing temperatures in her first eight mile race, in a field of 22 – many of whom were ex-internationals – Isla Bethune and her partner won the class at Weybridge in the Elmbridge Canoe Club K2 10@10 race on Sunday. The young canoeist who is a regular at the new Ergo Centre at Gordon’s, only qualified to the group the week before the race. Congratulations Isla!
Fortune cookies; Chinese lanterns and of course sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice were on the menu today at Gordon’s for students and staff welcoming in the Chinese New Year. They enjoyed a delicious lunch in the school dining room, complete with fortune cookies.
This year the theme of the Inter-House Art competition is Movement. The boys’ houses are currently creating their masterpieces then towards the end of the week it’s the girls’ turn. Judging their work will be the Art Department’s Andrew Holt and Hannah Cotton.
