Our team of top talkers are through to the District Competitions in the Rotary Club’s ‘Youth Speaks’ competition. The articulate threesome of Sixth Formers debated both sides for ‘This house would limit each person to one return flight per year’ at the local heats and were awarded their shield in Assembly today. Two of them also won prizes for their roles as opposer and chair. Congratulations to all of them.
Eddie the Eagle Edwards landed at Gordon's for the BSA Public Speaking Festival. Mr Edwards, who represented Great Britain in the Winter Olympics in 1988, was Guest of Honour and gave a moving and humorous speech about his journey to Calgary. A true representation of all the school's character traits.
Polished performances by Kensington and Buckingham Houses today for the KS5 final of the Inter-House Debating competition in which Kensington were debating for the abolition of trial by jury and Buckingham against. With Kensington referring to the O J Simpson Trial and Buckingham, the Magna Carta, the debate flowed across the years. The judges – the Head and his two deputies – are currently deliberating on the winners of the competition with other year groups to follow.
Fresh from their tournament win at Lord Wandsworth College, our Hockey First Team have gone on to victory at KCS Wimbledon at their Invitational 11-a-side tournament. The sensational squad of 13 won every game without conceding a goal with Hannah finishing as top scorer. The girls also triumphed on Monday in a National Cup match against Sherborne Girls. Congratulations all.

Bookworms made their way to the library today for the Book Fair, taking place until Thursday during break and lunchtimes. Featuring the latest in young adult fiction, the event is the perfect opportunity to buy reasonably priced books. The latest tomes can be bought with cash or the cost can be added to their school account by prior arrangement.
As part of Anti-Bullying Week, our students are at Alexandra Palace for the Diana Award event on the theme 'Change Starts with Us'. They are attending interactive workshops and panel discussions designed to leave them inspired to tackle bullying.
For our tomorrow, they gave their today. Gordon's honours and remembers those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in a moving Remembrance Service and Parade on Sunday. Today there will be a two minute silence throughout the school at 11am. Please click here for a video of the Parade.
Lifting the Lord Wandsworth College Tournament Shield after an average of six goals per game, our Hockey 1st Team. The girls scored an amazing 42 goals in the tournament of 13 minute one way matches against tough opposition including Reed’s; Pangbourne; Bedales and Lord Wandsworth, conceding only three goals. Congratulations to all nine of them.

Gardening Club students took another step closer to creating their mindfulness garden today when they welcomed their horticultural mentor Lettie Irving from RHS Wisley who advised on the design of the garden and plants best suited to it. The garden, part of the RHS Green Plan It scheme will feature a gazebo; sunken garden and seating. It will provide a place for students to connect; appreciate; be active; achieve and give.
The stunning autumnal colours at Kew Gardens proved the perfect backdrop for Year 10s Art and Photography students studying ‘Surfaces’ and ‘A sense of place’. The group drew and photographed throughout the botanical gardens, particularly focussing on the reflections in the lake outside the Princess of Wales Conservatory.
