  • Rowing Success

    First time they have raced in a double together and their first ever head race, yet Izzy and Ella overcame the odds to win the women’s Junior 14 double at the Weybridge Silver Sculls.  Second places for James in his Junior 17 single scull and racing with James in the Junior 17 double sculls against tough opposition. The Weybridge Silver Sculls is the oldest sculling head on the non-tidal reaches of the Thames and previous scullers who have won the trophy there include Sir Steve Redgrave, Dan Topolski and Guy Pooley. Congratulations to all our Gordon’s rowers on a great competition!

    A whole school mufti day has turned the usual sea of green on the Parade Square to a mass of pink. Students and staff donating money to Breast Cancer Now in exchange for wearing mufti today.

  • Hats Off to Year 7s

    Published 16/10/22

    Hats off to our Year 7s, who marched today onto the Parade Square as part of the Harvest Festival Parade. The Year group, have only been marching since they arrived in September and yet managed to perform today with aplomb, to the applause of their peers, parents and staff. Afterwards there was the tradition of throwing their hats into the air by the statue of General Gordon on the Front Field. Congratulations Year 7!

  • New Fitness Suite Arrives

    The brand new fitness suite has arrived! Overlooking the 3G pitch and complementing the nearby Sports Hub, the fitness suite offers 150 square metres of space for students to work out, with the most environmentally friendly heat pump sources providing air conditioning and heating. Four new power racks with over 1200kg of weight, four new concept 2 bikes and a 10m turfed track to assist with running mechanics and power development, adds to the already extensive equipment on offer. The fitness suite will be available for use after the half term holiday.

  • mash aids china win

    For their mash-up of of Beyonce, White Stripes, Eurythmics and Spice Girls, China House won the prized Inter-House Music competition last night. The competition, which has seen a frenzy of musical activity in each House over the past few weeks, is divided into solos and groups with an overall winning House. Windsor House topped the Houses for solo performances. To view China's winning song, please click here.

  • The Queen's Green Canopy

    Proud to be included in The Queen's Green Canopy (QGC) map (click here to see) for the Jubilee tree planted outside the Chapel after the Patron’s Parade in June by two of the school’s then youngest students, Sophie Wallace and Annabelle Hayakawa – both born on August 31st 2010. The Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Worplesdon’ is a beautiful addition to the school grounds, particularly in the Autumn with its orange/red leaves, and is a living legacy to The Queen, who was the School’s Patron. The girls also buried a time capsule nearby containing a science project on what scientific advances had been made during Her Majesty’s reign.

  • Fire Fighting for Naval Cadets

    Fire-fighting training for our Royal Navy CCF Cadets on their field day at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth. Meanwhile, our RAF cadets are learning new skills at RAF Odiham and Army cadets at Longmoor Camp. All Year 10 students join one of the school’s tri-service CCF with the opportunity of taking part in one field day per term.     What could possibly go wrong with trying to put together a musical in just 24 hours for charity? But the Drama Department and a crew of talented students did just that, putting on a public performance on Sunday evening that was enjoyed by all, to raise money for King's College Hospital, London.   • HMC National Singles Champion

    Congratulations Millie Cottrell, who was crowned HMC (Headmasters' & Headmistresses' Conference) National Girls Singles Champion for 2022. 

    Millie shot a one over par 74 at The Berkshire Golf Club Red Course to seal the national title against 11 other girls.

    After a tough front nine Millie shot an outstanding 33 coming in - including four birdies - her impressive recovery clinching the national title.

    Millie’s late birdie blitz put her ahead of the other top girls golfers across the country by a whisker as she won on count back. Runner up in the competition was Lichtenhein (Wellington College).  For further information about golf at Gordon's, please click here.

  • 24 hour musical

    Twenty four hours and 35 students putting together a musical to an audience at the end! That’s what the Drama Department of staff and students have set themselves in order to raise money for King’s College Hospital Charity. Students will be told what musical they are performing when they arrive at school on Saturday. From then on it’s all systems go. Lighting, sound, dance, music, and rehearsals – all within 24 hours!   • Maths challenge

    Heads down for the UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) Senior Maths Challenge as some of the School's best mathematicians from Years 11, 12 and 13 test themselves in the hope of achieving gold, silver or bronze certificates or perhaps to qualify in the British Mathematical Olympiad. The 90 minute, multiple choice challenge, seeks to inspire a love of problem solving and has been running for over 20 years.

    Light, bright, contemporary and the perfect place to relax, Sandringham and Balmoral's new-look facilities for Residential Boarders are proving a great hit with staff and students. Bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas have all been transformed as part of a five year £1 million refurbishment of the school’s Residential Boarding Houses, coinciding with Gordon's TES Boarding School of the Year Award 2022.
