law society
Law Society is a student-led group for people interested in law, political debate, and current affairs. It's an avenue for students to explore the legal world outside the curriculum and develop skills useful for careers in law, politics, business, journalism or public policy. In Law Society we discuss famous legal cases and controversial issues, such as human rights and criminal justice. We often hold debates and mock trials, where students act as barristers, judges, and witnesses. Through research and different opportunities, the society exposes students to various essay competitions, super-curriculars, and enrichment possibilities, which look impressive on UCAS and personal statements. As students come closer to university applications, the society also places emphasis on preparing for the LNAT — a formal entrance exam for studying law at universities such as Oxbridge, KCL, UCL, LSE and Bristol.
