TENNIS

Tennis has grown rapidly at Gordon’s in recent years and our programme caters for all levels of player from recreational to county. The school has a partnership with Bagshot Tennis Club, which is used as a venue for senior training and home fixtures, and the school has access to the club’s professional coaching team. Senior team players train and play fixtures throughout the year on a mix of floodlit artificial clay, hard and artificial grass courts, while younger players have access to the adjacent West End Tennis club in the summer term through the school’s Period 7 programme. The school fields teams in the LTA Youth Schools League at U13 and U15 level and our senior teams compete in both regional and national competitions. In 2023 our U18 girls team were Tier 2 Surrey Tennis Festival winners, having previously reached the semi finals of the Branston Shield, a prestigious county competition, in 2022. Players from the school have been selected for both Surrey and Middlesex county teams and have gone on to play university 1st team level tennis upon leaving Gordon’s.
