Master Class with Jo Trip - September 2018

Pre-season training kicked off with a masterclass given by Surrey Storm's Jo Trip. Trip explained the importance of resilience and using failure as a positive learning experience. She revealed that in the past she hasn’t been picked for teams and squads but has persisted on her journey to ANZ and Superleague Netball. Jo really emphasised that she believed she had failed more on her journey than she had succeeded! After a fun filled warm up, the Gordon’s School netballers received their very own passing masterclass, including tips on pace and accuracy of the netball pass and keeping the ball high. One of Jo’s great tips, ‘throw the ball harder, if she can get a hand to the ball she can catch it’, really helped improve the game for all the teams taking part in the day.

Later in the afternoon the Gordon’s School netballers had the opportunity to show off their new passing technique in an afternoon of games, coached along the way by Jo.
