RGS Young Geographer of the Year Competition  

This annual competition which recognises the outstanding work of the next generation of geographers. With its age ranges spanning the primary years to A Level, the competition encourages thoughtful and creative answers to the competition’s theme which is set each year. This year's theme is A blueprint for the future and the deadline is October 2023. WorldWise Quiz –Geographical Association 

Students respond to different questions from a range of categories in local rounds before progressing to regional. It is a great opportunity to test geographical knowledge. 

Ron Cooke Award for the A Level Independent Investigation

For our A-Level students, this award recognises students’ work towards the independent investigation, also known as the NEA. This competition aims to celebrate students’ work which had engaged them with new ideas, provided opportunities for innovation and/or demonstrates their personal interest in geography.  More details and past winners can be found: https://www.rgs.org/schools/competitions/ron-cooke-award/

In addition to the above competitions, our Geography department regularly enters and promotes various University Essay Competitions.
