Remote Learning

Every lesson, with the exception of PSHE and Liberal Arts, is being taught live online. Students simply log into Teams at the start of each lesson and join their class. Core PE session will run for Y7-9 and these will be through Zoom. PSHE is covered by a series of separate assemblies.

Lessons are 40 minutes long to help reduce screen time and balance mental-health with academic rigour. Students are to follow their normal timetable throughout the week, with each lesson finishing 15 minutes earlier than normal.

The delivery of lessons will be varied according to the subject and individual teacher, but students can expect some direct-taught content, some task-work to be completed independently and sometimes in group 'break-outs', and some assessment of learning in every lesson. Throughout the lesson, the teacher is available live online for students to ask questions and receive guidance and support.

Prep and assessment routines will continue to be set for each subject in the normal way. Students may use their PSHE lessons to complete prep if they wish.

It is vital that students break from their screen during the 15 minutes between lessons to have a short walk, have a drink or something to eat, or otherwise distract themselves from their screen in whatever way they can.
