Mark was a trustee of the Gordon Foundation from 2000 to 2019, and served as Treasurer from ? to 2019. He is one of Gordon’s last direct connections with the Sudan, where Mark lived as a young child when his father was Governor of Kordofan and his stepfather was Governor of Darfur. He studied electrical and electronic engineering followed by a postgraduate business degree leading to an early career in international engineering and later moving on to the venture capital business. He is a director of the UK's largest venture capital trust. He was a member of the Council of the University of Bath and he retains a continuing interest in the University's activities in the areas of enterprise, entrepreneurship and innovation.


Paul joined Gordon’s School in 1958 as a pupil leaving in 1964. He had a successful career in the City holding a number of senior management positions before setting up his own consultancy business. He became a trustee of the Gordon Foundation in 1989 retiring after 30 years in 2019. During his time as a trustee he chaired the Foundations Investment Committee for more than 20 years.
