    All that elbow grease paid off as students presented sparkling shoes and beautifully ironed Blues for their annual Drill competition. Sandringham House started the event, which was inspected by Lieutenant Joshua Edwards from Pirbright. Judging the drills was Sergeant Andrew Roberts from the Cadet Training Team at Longmoor. Girls were competing for the Longmoor Cup and boys for the Talbot Cup. The winners of the hotly contested Cups, will be announced at the Patron’s Parade in June.

    The annual Inter-House drill competition takes place tomorrow with the girls competing for the Longmoor Cup and the boys for the Talbot Cup. Judging the drill is Sergeant Andrew Roberts from the Cadet Training team at Longmoor and carrying out the inspection will be Lieutenant Joshua Edwards from Pirbright.

    Not only did Mr Sinclair, Head of Buckingham House, complete the London Marathon but he also achieved his fundraising target of £3,000. Our Marathon Man covered the distance in just over three hours and his tireless efforts will mean the school is able to buy much needed sports equipment for the new sports hall and all weather pitch for use by students, staff and the local community.

    An English Speaking Union workshop in Berkshire gave students in Year 7 the opportunity to hone their skills in debating and public speaking today. The group attended the ‘Discover your Voice’ workshop designed to help them communicate more effectively with others; develop their ability to think critically; build cohesive arguments and improve their delivery, listening and response skills.

  • dartmoor dofe

    They took on Dartmoor for three days. Now the teams have been selected for the Ten Tors Challenge in May. This annual challenge sees over 2,000 teenagers competing in often difficult conditions and terrain and climbing ten tors in Dartmoor. We wish our team the best of luck next month.
