Cricket Week 2016
Very well done to all the students who took part in Cricket Week at Gordon's
After all the exams were over the Gordon’s School First XI played in an inaugural Cricket Week. The whole week was played on the cricketing amphitheatre on the Back Field. The intention of this week was to further develop both the players' standards and the name of Gordon’s within the cricketing world. This week has been a result of numerous successes in cricket over the last five years, both as a team and individually. The school also has a great reputation for cricket in the County.
Unfortunately we lost two of our games vs Whitgift and St George’s through poor weather, but we still managed to play competitively against Reddam House, Forest and the Gordon’s Staff team. After beating Reddam House by 60 runs on the Tuesday we came up against a strong Forest side where we eventually lost by 6 wickets. The big game of the week was undoubtedly against the Gordon’s Staff! It was a great evening with a BBQ, and the game ended in a well manufactured tie!
Thank you to all the players, parents and staff who made this week possible and one which we hope to develop further in the future
