Honouring our new patron, HM King Charles

An extra special Patron’s Parade today, marking the continuing of the reigning Sovereign’s Patronage since Queen Victoria in 1885. The Parade honoured the new Sovereign Patron, His Majesty King Charles, who recently accepted the Patronage. Guest of Honour and inspecting the Parade, was The Right Honourable the Lord Lancaster of Kimbolton, a Trustee of Gordon’s and former Minister of State for the Armed Forces. Lord Lancaster served with the Royal Engineers, currently serves in the Army Reserves as a Major General and is Colonel Commandant of the Brigade of Gurkhas. Leading today’s Parade was Sergeant Major Thomas Allen. The Drum Major was Lucy Carter, Pipe Major Harry Gordon and Trumpeter Ben Hallett.

The Parade also honoured the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings and the Gordonians who lost their lives in the Second World War.
