on the crest of a wave

Mack takes to his surf-board to celebrate his GCSE results today, which saw students at Gordon's far outstripping the national average. The majority gained the historic 'gold standard' of five or more GCSE grades, including English Language and Maths, with BTEC students also excelling, the vast majority being awarded distinction or merit grades. The percentage of students achieving the highest grades (Grades 9-7) was 37% (national average 29%) and those recording Grades 9-4 was 95%, almost 20% above the national average. The results were awarded by teachers, based on a series of supervised examinations as well as consideration of their performance over the past two years of study. Please click here for full results.
