Team Krushall Win Best Business Idea in GCSE Business Studies Dragons' Den Event
Year 10 GCSE Business Studies pupils were put through their paces by taking part in a "Dragons' Den" style event, held in the Rec, on Wednesday 27th January.
Learning about how to set up a successful business, students have been working in teams to create a business plan to present to the ‘Dragons’ who comprised of members of the local community and real life entrepreneurs. In the style of the popular BBC TV series, the Dragons asked questions and grilled the students on their plans.
Business ideas ranged from customised pet collars to a language app translator but the idea deemed ‘most likely to succeed’ was that of a milkshake bar, where team Krushall, convinced the Dragons that there was a gap in the market for this in the local area.
Andrew Grace, Head of Business Studies, said: "Once again, all the presentations were fantastic and all Year 10 pupils should be congratulated for their range of innovative ideas. It is important that that all these pupils develop a passion for business as they will be the entrepreneurs of the future, and running successful events such as 'Dragons' Den is integral to this."
