The Gordon's Christmas Dash 2015!
The third annual Gordon’s Christmas Dash went ahead again in the cold damp December weather but this was not enough to deter 78 runners who were happy to run through mud and water around Brentmoor Common.
The third annual Gordon’s Christmas Dash went ahead again in the cold damp December weather but this was not enough to deter 78 runners who were happy to run through mud and water around Brentmoor Common. Feedback has been fantastic and they have said they had a fantastic morning, one runner said; “Thanks for a really enjoyable run yesterday - it is a great local event and I will be spreading the word to other fellow runners to sign up next year!”
Thank you to all runners, please visit http://the-gordonians.org.uk/#2015results for full results.
A fantastic “Well Done” to Adam Cracknell of Bracknell Forest Runners who broke his own course record by shaving 12 seconds off his time. The time to beat is now 30 minutes 19 seconds. I am also delighted to announce that the course records are now sponsored by a resident of New England Hill who is very pleased to see such a great event happening in the woods around their home each year.
Thank you also to the 30 volunteers who made the day possible – your help, support and valuable time on a Sunday morning is greatly appreciated. All proceeds from the day go to helping children at the school who have been effected by trauma, neglect and/or violence. These children are helped through a Gordon’s residential boarding place which provides them with the stability and pastoral care they need.
My final thanks go to the Surrey Wildlife Trust who allow us to use the common for this event and we are delighted to support the charity by giving £1 for each runner on the day.
Please spread the word and see you all next year! Please click here to view more photographs from the run.
