From sleeping on the Parade Square to experience homelessness; our Inter-Generational project; Sixth Former volunteers; hamper collections for the homeless and many other community projects, Gordon’s is through to the regional finals of the Goldsmiths’ Awards for Community Engagement. Next month six students will present to a judging panel in London for a place in the finals.  Around 100 schools across the country have applied for the award and now 28 will compete in the regionals. The award recognises that while schools focus on academic records and exam grades, what is also important is educating students in the wider sense through their work in their communities.
