Students from Year 9 lay a wreath at the Menin Gate Memorial during last night’s Remembrance Ceremony. Since 1929 the Last Post has been sounded at the Menin Gate Memorial every night. The only exception was during the four years of the German occupation of Ypres from 1940 to 1944. During that time the ceremony was held at Brookwood Military Cemetery, where Pipe Major Edward Lee played the Last Post on Sunday at their monthly Remembrance Service.
