Academic Information

The minimum academic requirements to join Gordon's School Sixth Form in 2020 are the following or equivalent:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9-5 including at least a grade 5 in GCSE English Language and Mathematics

AND

The grade criteria for individual subjects as outlined in the Gordon's Sixth Form Options booklet .

Final A level option blocks and courses will be confirmed in October 2019.

Please indicate from the below drop down boxes which 3 A levels you wish to study (Please note, you will NOT be taking AS Levels in these subjects).

Students studying 3 A level subjects will be required to select a further subsidiary subject from a list to be published in July 2019. This subsidiary subject will only be studied in Y12.

Students can opt to take 4 A level subjects for 2 years (without the 1 year subsidiary subject) if they so wish. In this case, please select a 4th subject from Option D.

If BTEC Sport is chosen, 2 option blocks must be selected as it is considered as a double A level.

2. We welcome applications for Residential Boarding places with a strong 'need to board'. Parents who are applying for a boarding place are asked to give additional information in Section 3, or by covering letter, saying why there is a need for their child to board.

3. Any offer and subsequent entry to Gordon's School to study a Sixth Form course will always be subject to the applicant meeting the published minimum entry requirements.
