PSHE & well-being

PSHE acknowledges and addresses the changes that young people experience and equips them with the knowledge; understanding and skills to enable them to live healthy, happy, safe and fulfilled lives. Our programme of study enables students to manage the many challenges they may experience, become responsible and explore their increasing independence.

Through our Self-Science lessons, students develop their understanding of our character strengths and explore a variety of practical skills, which will equip them for life outside of school. PSHE lessons also enable students to reflect upon their values and attitudes and we hope to instil values, beliefs and a growth mindset, encouraging them to make sensible decisions and choices.

PSHE encourages students to: manage risks; appreciate that actions have consequences; make informed decisions; become financially aware; explore healthy relationships and become aware of the increasing influence of peers and the media. PSHE enables students to become confident in making meaningful and active contributions to their community.
