  • National Finalists

    In recognition of our work in the community, particularly during Lockdown, Gordon’s has been selected as Finalists in the Goldsmiths’ Community Engagement Awards. Students will compete against seven other schools across the country to a team of judges at Goldsmiths’ Hall in London on 23rd November. The judges at the regional finals last week, described the school’s efforts as “inspirational” and noted that “….community engagement is in the DNA of the school”.

  • Historic Win in Inter-House Sport

    For the first time in their history, Victoria House has won the Inter-House netball. The girls’ Day Boarding House, which opened in 2016, made the top spot in every year group playing on Saturday, finishing five points ahead of reigning champions China. In third place were Augusta.  Buckingham House were winners of this year's Inter-House Football. In second place were Gravesend, followed by Balmoral. Congratulations all those taking part in the two competitions on an exciting and enjoyable competition.

  • Wearing Red for Comic Relief

    Mufti Day in support of Comic Relief and the colour had to be red! Each student (and staff) taking part donated £2 to the Red Nose Day appeal to help tackle homelessness, hunger, domestic abuse and mental health stigma.

  • Regional Finalists

    Published 24/03/21

    Presenting to a team at The Goldsmiths' Company for the Regional Finals of the Community Awards, our representatives gave engaging and informative accounts of the school's community and charitable work during and before lockdown. Among the many examples the group talked about was MAD Day; the Pipes and Drums and inter-generational music, showing how community engagement is in the DNA of the school. Congratulations all on fantastic performances.

  • Junior Leaders

    Some of our Junior Prefects as they begin their new leadership roles in the school. The Year 10 students were selected after applying to their Heads of Houses and being interviewed. Each House has up to four Junior Prefects, who will represent both their Houses and the School. As part of their roles, they will be expected to complete safeguarding training and will be invited to participate in the Good to Great Leadership Programme as well as completing the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 2 qualification.   • Khartoum Scoops Rugby Title

    For the first time in over a decade, Khartoum House won the Inter-House Rugby at the weekend. The boys' Day Boarding House, led by former Fiji National Men's 7s Skills Coach and Analyst Chris Davies, were a clear five points ahead of their closest rivals Buckingham who were second. In third place was reigning champions Balmoral. A fantastic return to competitive sport and sportsmanship on Saturday.

  • Hockey Win for China

    Congratulations to China House - winners of the Inter-House Hockey. In Saturday's closely-fought competition, China beat reigning champions Victoria by just one point. In third place equal was Augusta and Kensington. All Houses showed true sportsmanship on and off the pitches.

  • Global Debates

    Published 15/03/21

    Two days of weighty debates by seven students taking part in the London International Model United Nations conference over the weekend. The virtual event, which attracted students from around the world, included discussions on preventing honour-based violence on young women and girls and improving global healthcare equity. All made good points on behalf of their country with one student gaining an honourable mention for his contributions while representing South Africa in the World Health Organisation committee.   • Gold for Parents

    In this, the first challenge between students, parents, staff and Gordonians, parents won gold in both the Participation Cup and Kilometre Cup. Eighty parents seized the chance to take on their children in the Virtual Inter-House Challenge involving either running, walking, cycling or rowing. They covered 375.53 kilometres. In second place was Victoria House with 39 participants amassing 111.1 kilometres and third place equal for participation, Kensington and Khartoum with Khartoum notching up a silver place on the podium with 204.94 kilometres. Congratulations to all those taking part.

    Buddy in Sandringham House and all the staff at Gordon’s are very much looking forward to welcoming back our Residential Boarders tonight and Day Boarders in the morning.   • Ultimate Inter-House Challenge

    This Inter-House challenge is the ultimate and involves not just students but their parents, staff and Gordonians. See how far you can run, walk, row or cycle in 20 minutes. The competition is open from 9am on Tuesday 2nd March to 5pm on Sunday 7th March and winning Houses will be those with the most number of kilometres and the highest participation.
