  • IN PRAISE OF DR FAUSTUS

    ‘What a show!’; ‘excellent collaboration of the arts’ and ‘….wonderful first night’ were just some of the comments made about the sell-out Dr Faustus production which arrived at Gordon’s last night.   • ARRIVAL OF DR FAUSTUS

    Be prepared to be transported to a dark, tragic world as Dr Faustus arrives at Gordon’s tonight for a three night run. All performances are sold out for what promises to be another breath-taking production by the Drama students. Caught during their technical rehearsal this morning, this gives a glimpse of what to expect tonight. Break a leg all!

  • RUGBY SEVENS SUCCESS

    Cup finalists in the Seaford College 7s Tournament, Gordon’s U18 VII suffered an agonising loss to Epsom College 5-0 on Sunday. However, Corum Nott was picked Player of the Tournament. Their scores in the Group Stages: New Hall School 33-12; Hurstpierpoint College 19-14; Felsted School 19-12 and Bishop Wordsworth’s School 19-17. Congratulations all on your fantastic performances.

  • ICH BIN EIN BERLINER

    Our A Level students are already immersing themselves in the rich history of Berlin at the Potsdam Palace and German History Museum. The group arrived in the city today on a two trip which will also include a tour of the Cold War bunkers; the Berlin Wall Memorial and the Topography of Terror.

    Some of the UK’s best comedic talent is coming to Gordon’s on Friday 7th February for Heathcote’s Comedy Club.   • ROAD SAFETY

    ‘You’re not invincible’ was the message from #EpicFail, to Year 11 students this afternoon about car safety. The hard-hitting talk, funded by Surrey County Council, included messages from parents of children killed on Surrey roads. The talk is a prelude to one given to students in Year 12 on ‘Safe Drive, Stay Alive’.

    The Gordon Memorial Service took place in Guildford Cathedral on Sunday. The service was led by the Reverend Canon Dr Paul Smith and Canon Liturgist Paul Thompson delivered the annual Gordon Sermon.

    Bringing Whitehall to a standstill, some 250 students together with the Pipes and Drums marched to the statue of General Gordon on the banks of the Thames for the start of Memorial Weekend.   • MEMORIAL WEEKEND

    Beautiful, crisp morning for the start of Memorial Weekend in which the school, founded as the national memorial to General Gordon, commemorates his life. Students will leave his statue overlooking the Front Field in West End, Woking for his statue on the banks of the Thames. Those not involved in the Parade have netball and football matches against Lancing College; Reading School and Claremont Fan Court. Tomorrow the annual General Gordon Memorial Service will be held in Guildford Cathedral.
