    Open air cinema returns to Gordon's on Saturday 7th September when Jurassic Park is screened on the Front Field. Tickets are available from the Box Office. All proceeds will go towards equipping the new Sports Hub for use by the school and local community.

    In this their third game of the tour, the rugby team took on the Connect Sports Academy in the Langa Township, ending up eventual winners 22 vs 17. The group will today visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was held prisoner for 18 years.

    Standing on the equator our Gold Duke of Edinburgh students in Ecuador, who are visiting the country for a month. Their packed programme will take in the capital city Quito - the world's highest capital city and a trip to the Amazon rainforest. Best of luck to all of them.

    In the first of their five games during their tour of Cape Town, our rugby players played in difficult conditions, fighting hard with an attacking mindset against Camps Bay High School, with a final score of 36-0 to Gordon's. Today the group will be visiting Seal Island to see the Cape Fur Seals.

    Training for their first game of five in Cape Town with the Twelve Apostle Mountains as their backdrop, the U18 Rugby team will play Camps Bay High School. Tomorrow they will take a tour of the Cape Peninsular to Seal Island.

    South Africa here they come! Our rugby team at Heathrow Airport before leaving for for South Africa where they will take on five schools in Cape Town as part of a packed tour that will also include visits to Robben Island; a game reserve; seal colony and time spent doing community work.

    Our intrepid skydivers - Head Teacher Andrew Moss; Bursar Susan Meikle; Senior Pipe Major Iona Scotson and Gordon's parents Jane Blackbeard-Powick and Victoria Bailey took fundraising for the new sports hub to new heights yesterday, raising over £6,000 for equipment.     Final briefing before taking to the skies near Salisbury for their tandem skydive - Gordon's Head Andrew Moss; Bursar Susan Meikle and Senior Pipe Major Iona Scotson together with brave parents Jane Blackbeard-Powick and Victoria Bailey. The group are doing a sponsored skydive to raise money for the new sports hub, which will serve both the community and students. Best of luck to them!

    Taking their commitment to fundraising for the new sports hub at Gordon's to new heights, our Head Teacher Andrew Moss; Bursar Susan Meikle and Senior Pipe Major Iona Scotson will do a sponsored skydive tomorrow. The threesome will join parents Jane Blackbeard-Powick and Victoria Bailey in their brave feat. Mr Moss said of the terrifying challenge: “I am always telling students to be the best that they can be and to challenge themselves so I thought I really should set myself a challenge and do my bit to help the fundraising effort for the sports hub.   • making a difference

    Enrichment Week culminates today with 'Making a Difference Day' - an opportunity for students to make a difference in the local community and further afield. Activites include gardening at a nearby infant school; beach cleaning in Portsmouth; little picking and visiting the elderly residents of Gracewell care home in West End (pictured). We look forward to welcoming nearby residents and friends this afternoon for a tea party with delicious cakes that have been made by the students.

  • dragons' choice

    In just one hour, our Year 9 students had to come up with a concept/product find its USP and produce marketing for it before giving a presentation to two judges – Dragons’ Den-style! Gordon’s Business Breakfast regulars David Goodman of Swift Motors and Thomas Prout of Workflow Document Solutions judged the teams, crowning the best to be the team who struck on the idea of  a biodegradable water holder. Special mention was made of Angel Lowe for her contribution to the team. Earlier in the day the Year 9 cohort had learned the art of putting together a CV; honed their interview techniques and taken part in team building exercises.
