The 1885 Legacy Society

Your Legacy, Their Future

The Trustees of The Gordon Foundation invite you to join “The 1885 Society”, named in honour of the death of General Gordon and the foundation of the Gordon Boys’ Home in his memory.

Great achievements often come from humble beginnings. The Gordon Foundation and Gordon's School strive to keep alive the memory of General Gordon and with your help we can ensure we continue to honour his beliefs and philanthropic aims.

Lt General Sir Anthony Pigott; Past Chairman of the Gordon Foundation

Inspiration

For many of the early years, Gordon Boys' Home gave “necessitous boys” a new start in life. Now as Gordon’s School, many hundreds of boys and girls have, and continue to be given, the best start in life through an excellent all-round academic education, as well as opportunities to embrace new experiences, active involvement in the unique school ceremonies and confidence to excel in all they do.

Why leave a legacy to Gordon’s School?

The future of Gordon’s is exciting but there will always be challenges. To ensure that the School sustains its leading position and provides the best possible opportunities, we will continually look to the future. Gordon’s has ambitious plans, both for the development of our facilities and for widening access to today’s “necessitous” children. We need your help to bring some of these plans to fruition, including:
  • Providing funding for Foundation Bursaries to enable disadvantaged students to benefit from a Gordon’s education.
  • The upgrade and expand our sports' and performing arts' facilities, to underpin Gordon’s commitment to our sporting and arts excellence.

Anything you can give will help Gordon’s School to plan for the future and will be treated in the strictest confidence. Please click here if you wish to complete a Legacy Pledge Form.

If you require any further information before completing the form, please contact the Development Office at donations@gordons.school or call 01276 858084.
