pride of gordon's in rugby world cup

Stressful weekend for our Head of PE, Paul King, watching two of his former pupils playing in the international arena. With Jake Ball squaring up to Faf de Klerk in the semi-finals of the Rugby World Cup in Japan, his team reaching a cruel end to the journey, another, Steven Brown played the round of his life in the Portugal Golf Masters. Jake arrived at Gordon’s as a rugby player but switched to cricket for a couple of years, playing for Surrey County and Wokingham Cricket Club. Steven was a scratch golfer during his schooldays but also played for Gordon’s First XI football team. “But both lads have done themselves, Gordon’s and their countries proud” said Mr King, adding that his eyes are now on the Paralympics next year for another of his proteges, Hannah Russell.
