DofE Gold Award - Oct 2014

Nine former and one current Gordon’s School pupil were presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award certificate at St James’ Palace 

Nine former and one current Gordon’s School pupil were presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award certificate at St James’ Palace on Wednesday 15th October 2014. The presentation was made by Sir Richard Stilgoe OBE DL, a British songwriter, lyricist and musician. The Duke of Edinburgh chatted to the various groups before the presentation took place.
Approximately 350 young people attended the ceremony as well as one personal guest of each young person (usually a parent).
 
The Gold Award presentation (GAP) is a celebration and recognition of the students’ achievements in completing their Gold Award Programme. The GAP is a unique event and a fitting culmination to mark the hard work, determination and perseverance required.
 
Recent leavers – Megan Hall, Katie Twigger, Rebecca Tillman, Emma Maurer, Harriet Hughes and Amy Dunne pose with their certificates. Students not shown were Charlie Clemmow, Nipun Kottearachchi, India Flannagan and Damon Roberts.
